The NGO Management School is the training department of the Geneva-based NGO Management Association. We support non-profits and their partners worldwide to maximise their effectiveness and accelerate progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals. Since 2001, we have supported non-profit organisations and their partners in over 100 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. Since 2007, we provided consultancies to numerous big and small organisations, and delivered training to over 3,500 people.

We are looking for an Training Coordinator to help prepare and organise courses in Switzerland and abroad. The Training Coordinator reports to the Executive Director.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to connect with organisations worldwide.

Who we are looking for - responsibilities

Course Development:

  • Participate in the design of innovative public and in-house courses, including online courses.
  • Lead needs assessments for tailored courses and participate in proposal writing for courses.
  • Lead the organisation and delivery of public and in-house training programs, including online courses.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain effective relationships, with your team, colleagues, members and external partners.
  • Participate in an ongoing interview series with senior executives of international and national non-profits to gather insights, assess trends, and identify capacity development needs within the sector.
  • Manage international contacts on training and consultancy opportunities with individual course inquirers, other international and national non-profits, foundations, social entrepreneurs, philanthropists, corporations, government agencies.
  • Respond to and handle course related administrative matters (online payments, invoices).

Content Management

Oversee the preparation of course materials, a monthly newsletter and updating of webpages.

Communications Strategy

Collaborate with colleagues on defining marketing strategies and campaigns for global course promotion.

Database Management

Participate in maintaining the participant database, the establishment ands management of an alumni network and Communities of Practice, and related course administrative tasks.

If you are an enthusiastic self-starter with entrepreneurial skills, you will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the successful organisation of training courses for non-profits and their partners. In this role, you will help design, coordinate, and manage both in-person and online training programmes, liaise with international participants and organisations, and support the smooth planning and execution of events.

Profil du participant: 
  • Educational Background: Master’s or Bachelor degree in education, international development, international relations, business, or related fields. A background in adult learning or organizational development would be an asset.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in international development, training coordination, or project management.
  • Communication skills: Skilled at reaching out and maintaining professional connections with ease.
  • Personal competencies: High level of autonomy and motivation, flexibility, and good time management.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt training strategies to changing needs and environments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in evaluating training outcomes using metrics and analytics tools.
  • Cross-Cultural Competency: Proven ability to work effectively in diverse, international environments. Skilled in collaborating with global teams and stakeholders, adapting to various cultural perspectives, and ensuring culturally appropriate approaches.
